Aside from servicing the conventional needs of its customers, Fuse Enviro brings something unique well sites in the form of the RecoverTankTM . This proven, portable technology is available as part of a comprehensive service package and in turn also integrates seamlessly into pre-existing solids control operations.
The RecoverTankTM makes its contribution with its innovative process after the Shale Shaker completes its task. Cuttings that pass over the Shaker typically have an average of 30 to 50% ROC (Retention on Cuttings) when they enter the proprietary auger system and begin to cycle through the RecoverTankTM. The initial processing is done with a vertical cutting dryer that utilizes centrifugal force to take advantage of their differing densities to separate the largest portion of the remaining drilling fluid from the cuttings. The processed cuttings are discharged from the RecoverTankTM into the adjacent shale bin, then have an average ROC between 4% and 7% once processing is complete. This ROC percentage represents cuttings suitable for immediate disposal requiring minimal if any further stabilization. Processed waste material is lighter, less toxic and is more cost-efficient waste product that is safe for immediate transport.
Drilling fluid that has been extracted from the cuttings is processed and polished to remove finer low gravity solids suspended within it. The quality of recovered fluid maintains that it can be cycled back into the system for immediate re-use with minimal need for additional additives, handling, or processing. This advantage reduces the total amount of drilling fluid that is required to keep drilling operations performing at optimal efficiency, further reducing the costs associated.
The results of this mobile system are dependable and have been successfully utilized across Western Canada. The recovery of reusable product and the reduction of waste substantially reduce the financial demands levied by the need for supplies, disposal and transportation. This is an advantage that is further increased through deployment of unconventional operations where disposal and replacement of drilling fluids are inconvenient and expensive.
The reduction of waste and its toxicity levels speak directly to the willingness of the industry to make the environment a priority while still focusing on growth and production. The adequate removal of drilling fluids from cuttings reduces the total volume of waste that is necessary to transport and dispose of. This reduction, in conjunction with a reduction of overall drilling fluid requirements, will have an impact on the reduction of the carbon foot-print of complete and consistent operations.
In an economic and politically environmental market, there is more emphasis than ever on the ecological impact of drilling. The RecoverTankTM presents a pre-emptive opportunity to adapt to an actively changing circumstance before it becomes necessary to do so.
