What it does

RecoverTank runs after the shale shakers and fits into your existing solids-control setup. It's independent of the active mud system, and a cuttings bypass sends cuttings straight to the shale bin whenever needed, so drilling can continue during service.

Process

  1. Cuttings come off the shakers at an average of 19.6% ROC (over a thousand retort samples).
  2. An auger feeds a third-party vertical cuttings dryer.
  3. Centrifugal separation brings processed cuttings to an average of 6.1% ROC (current jobs average under 5%), then discharge to the adjacent shale bin.
  4. Recovered fluid is polished to remove fine low-gravity solids.
  5. Fluid is metered (digital and analog) and returned to the active system.

What that means on location

Over 30% fewer disposal truckloads

32% average across 27 wells (4 operators, 2015–2019); up to 37% on full programs.

Less fluid to buy

Recovered OBM/SBM goes back to your active system, including 100% of liquid additives.

Auditable

Recovered volumes are metered, so savings show up in your mud report.

Results vary with operator stabilization practice, mix-off and weather.
